35th PMPC Star Awards for Movies Winners

Kathryn Bernardo (The Hows of Us) and Sarah Geronimo (Miss Granny) won the Movie Actress of the Year Award at the recently concluded 35th Star Awards for Movies.

The two young stars beat Iza Calzado (Distance), Anne Curtis (Buy Bust), Glaiza de Castro (Liway), Alessandra de Rossi (Through Night and Day), Nadine Lustre (Never Not Love You), Gina Pareño (Hintayan ng Langit), Gloria Romero (Rainbow’s Sunstet), and Judy Anne Santos-Agoncillo (Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes).

The awards night of the 35th PMPC Star Awards for Movies was held last Sunday, June 2, at the Newport Performing Arts Theater of Resorts World Manila.

The awarding ceremony was hosted by Kathryn Bernardo, Iza Calzado, Arci Munoz, Aljur Abrenica, Gelli de Belen, and Robi Domingo.

In celebration of the 100 Years of Philippine Cinema this year, the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) presented the “Mga Natatanging Bituin Ng Siglo” (Outstanding Stars of the Century) Special Awards to iconic names who have shared unforgettable and remarkable contributions to Philippine cinema. 

The 35th PMPC Star Awards for Movies chose to honor the following celebrities (in alphabetical order):

  • Christopher De Leon
  • Joseph Estrada
  • Eddie Garcia
  • Anita Linda
  • Niño Muhlach
  • Ramon Revilla Sr.
  • Susan Roces
  • Gloria Romero

These 12 “Mga Natatanging Bituin Ng Siglo” legendary honorees were honored during a special production tribute under the direction of Bert De Leon.

Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr. made one of his first showbiz appearances by escorting his father, Ramon Revilla Sr.
